Getting Started
Once we have connected, I will get some basic information from you and share about my practice to make sure that we are on the same page. We can then get an initial appointment scheduled! I will send you electronic paperwork through a secure portal for you to fill out. This will be emailed to you with login instructions and includes all the documents needed for us to start working together. I will also give you detailed directions on where my office is located.
The First Session and Beyond
During your first session, we will review the paperwork you filled out, and I can answer any questions you may have. This session is an information-gathering opportunity for both of us – for you to determine if you feel that I am the right therapist for you and for me to be able to learn about you, what your desires are in therapy, and how I may be able to help. I hope to create a safe and relaxed atmosphere where we can be authentically ourselves. As we progress with sessions, we generally start with weekly, 55-minute sessions, and we can assess as we go to determine if or when we want to transition to bi-weekly. We will work collaboratively to determine this as well as what your goals are and what you hope to achieve. You are the expert in your life; I am here to understand and walk with you on that path. It won’t always be an easy path, but I will gladly walk alongside you, sometimes having to push or pull, but always on your team.
